In Turkey, Rosa damascena is cultivated mainly in the regions of Isparta and Burdur. These territories offer ideal climatic conditions for this rose variety particularly prized in perfumery.
The harvest period extends from May to June. The roses are then carefully hand-picked, early in the morning, using the traditional "pinching" technique.
Key point: This ancestral technique consists of grasping the rose by hand at the stem, turning it and giving it a slight wrist flick to preserve the flower's integrity.
To preserve the delicate fragrance of the rose flower, the roses are immediately transformed into concrete in our local partner's facilities. This concrete is then washed with ethanol in the Albert Vieille factory in Spain to remove waxes and enhance the olfactory notes.
